The Power of Vision Part 3

The Power of Vision Part 3

Hab 2:1-4 KJV
(1) I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
(2) And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
(3) For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
(4) Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

This is the concluding part of Characteristics of Vision

5. Vision Contributes
Vision services others around you. Vision ministers to others. Vision turns you into a minister.

To whose benefit is your vision? If it is not adding value to other people, it is not a God given vision. Every true vision meets the needs of others. Abraham had to pay the price of isolation, living like a nomad in other to fulfill God’s vision. What sacrifice are you paying to get your vision fulfilled?

Peter thought his vision was to be a fisherman, but Jesus told him, “I will make you fisher of men.

God rewards you when you go after your vision. The degree to which you impact other people’s life is the degree to which you will be rewarded. The quality of your value determines quality of compensation you get. Your greatness is tied to the product you have to offer.

Henry Ford wanted every American to afford a car. He wanted to meet the needs. Joseph gave his best and served faithfully in Portiphar’s house. God is a God of equity. God will reward you. You will not be cheated. Whatever you do, do as unto the Lord.

6. Vision keeps alive. The man of vision will not die until his vision is fulfilled.

David said,
Psa 118:17 KJV
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

Paul said
2Ti 4:7 KJV
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Before then he was not ready to go. The man of vision will not die until his vision is complete.

After Jesus showed up, John’s ministry was done and he died. Jesus died at 33 because his job was done.

In Luke 2:25-26 KJV
(25) And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
(26) And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

He could not die until he saw the Lord’s promised messiah.
Whatever God has shown you, you will see. You cannot die before your time!

7. Vision Inspires A true vision inspires. Elijah’s vision inspired Elisha. Other people often find expression in your own vision.

The Power of Vision Part 2

The Power of Vision Part 2

Hab 2:1-4 KJV
(1) I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
(2) And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
(3) For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
(4) Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

We continue today on Characteristics of Vision

4. Vision Provides

Provision means ‘In favour of vision’

In Matt :6:10 , the priority is made clear

Mat 6:10-11 KJV (10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (11) Give us this day our daily bread.

The priority of prayer should be that of purpose

After praying, “your will be done,” then we say give us our daily bread. That prayer of provision is in the context of purpose. There is provision in purpose.

When you pursue the vision of God for your life, there will be provision. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. If God calls you he will provide

God called Abraham and blessed him. The supply of God will be to the magnitude of the vision he has given you. If it God’s vision, your finances cannot handle it. Don’t dream to the size of your finances, dream to the size of God’s purpose for your life.

Jesus told the disciples,

Mat 10:9-10 KJV (9) Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, (10) Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

In other words, my favour will be with you. If you find out God’s plan for your life and you align with it, even though it is risky, God will provide.

Characteristics of Vision

The Power of Vision Part 2

1. Vision conditions.

Vision will shape your attitudes and behaviors. Vision disciplines. When you see nothing, you will do nothing. Visionaries discipline themselves. There is a discipline to every career. There is a price to pay.

Without self discipline, you cannot go far. All leaderships start from self leadership. How much you are able to control internal forces have a lot to do with what you do externally.

Vision is always bigger than you, otherwise it is not God. When you have a vision to protect, it conditions your life and you don’t live anyhow, just like a pregnant woman who carries a baby will not live anyhow. Vision energizes you and drives you.

In John 4, Jesus lost appetite because of vision. Live to fulfill God given purpose and not just what to eat, drink or wear. Those who spend all on themselves don’t have vision. Vision will control your lifestyle

2. Vision focuses you

Vision helps us to harness our resources. Life is full of options and opportunities, but not all are for you. When you do anything outside purpose, you will struggle through it.

When God builds through you, there will be supernatural results. Vision narrows down your options. It helps to channel your strength optimally. It helps you not to spread out your life too thinly.

Joh 6:15 KJV When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

They wanted to make Jesus king, but he ran away. It was not in line of purpose. Great positions are wonderful, but not every role is your role. Not every assignment is your assignment.

Act 14:12 KJV And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

Ministry of Paul and Barnabas were so effective they were going to make them gods, but Paul rebuffed them. Opportunity to become gods was not in line of their purpose. Human beings will make offers to you based on their perceptions, but only God knows your purpose. Don’t allow people to take you out of purpose.

3. Vision prioritizes

You must know how to prioritize if you have multiple purposes. It helps you to know which one to focus on. Priorities in relationships, location, business. You must know which relationship is more important to you per time. Let vision direct you.

THE POWER OF VISION

THE POWER OF VISION Part 1

Hab 2:2-3 KJV
(2)  And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
(3)  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Biblical vision is a glimpse of purpose. Vision means sense of sight. Setting goal for yourself without consultation with God is wrong and it is ambitious. God created

DISCOVERING YOUR PURPOSE

DISCOVERING YOUR PURPOSE Contd.

Rom 8:28-30 MSG
(28) That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

(29) God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him.

(30) After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun.

More pointers to the discovery of purpose include

4. Burdens and Compassions

What are the problems that stir up your compassion? Your burdens and compassion are clues to your purpose. The problem that infuriates you most is what you are called to solve.

Jdg 6:13-14 KJV

(13) And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

(14) And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

In Judges Chapter six and verse thirteen, Joshua was heavily burdened about Israel. This is evidenced in his speech and the questions he threw at the angel.

You would have thought the angel would answer his questions directly and give him a thorough explanation about his burdens. But what did the angel say? He simply said ‘Go’ in this thy might…”

Every burden will elicit a ‘Go’ If you have a burden or a compassion, it is an indication of your purpose.

5. Inherent Abilities

Purpose is inside you.

Jer 1:5 AMP

Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

Your purpose is in you. Check out what flows in you naturally. If you are woken up in the night, what will you do without stress? What is it that people consider as work, but you see as fun because you find it easy to do? It is a sure indication to the discovery or your purpose.

You will discover your purpose in Jesus name.

3. PURPOSE IS MULTIPLE

     3.   PURPOSE IS MULTIPLE

(In 7 Things You Need to Know About Purpose)

The sun warms and also dries. Moses was a warrior, a leader and a priest. David was a king, priest and prophet.
You will often find yourself in different roles at different seasons of your life. It is important to find out the progressive plan of God for your life and align with it.

    4.   PURPOSE IS INTER-DEPENDENT

Purpose is interdependent. No purpose exists by itself.  It is not God’s will to be dependent on people. God does not want anybody to be dependent on others. Being independent is also not scriptural.  God said man should not be alone.
God wants you to be a complete single. Your life should not be half developed. Be whole, be complete and be matured. When you are not whole, you have unrealistic expectations. Unrealistic expectations cause the major problems found marriage.

Every human being has his limit, so don’t look for anyone to crash on. God’s plan is not dependence or independence but inter-dependence. We are all created with gifts and unique talents. When we make use of our unique talents, it makes us inter-dependent.

Nourishment of the body is a function that is inter-connected. The moon, earth and sun are interdependent. Purpose cannot be fulfilled in isolation.

Even God needs people to fulfill his purpose. God’s purpose is to love, but he needed people to love. In order to fulfill His purpose, he created man. You are vital part of this generation.

In scriptures, the man that did not trade with what he had was called wicked. It is wickedness not to fulfill your purpose. You must play your part. Make up your mind.

PRINCIPLES OF PURPOSE Part 2

7     PRINCIPLES OF PURPOSE Part 2

4. WHERE PURPOSE IS NOT KNOWN, ABUSE IS INEVITABLE

When purpose of a thing is not known, you will abuse it. If you don’t know the purpose of a spouse, you will abuse him. The man must provide and the wife should support. Responsibility is the ability to respond.  If you don’t know the purpose of children, you will abuse them.

You only spank children when authority is contested. Make it clear to them, when you are correcting them, and don’t beat in anger. Find out the purpose of everything and everybody in your life. Simon the sorcerer did not know the purpose of laying on of hands. He wanted to abuse it. The purpose of the anointing is service.

5. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE PURPOSE OF A THING,
NEVER ASK A THING

The purpose of a thing is in the mind of the manufacturer. Your purpose is in the mind of God. Ask God, don’t ask man.

6. PURPOSE IS ONLY FOUND IN THE MIND OF THE CREATOR

You need salvation to know purpose. The word of God reveals his purpose. God’s purposes for us are to worship, evangelize, grow up, serve God and fellowship. As you study God’s word, it will shape your conviction and show you what you are created to be. The Spirit of God reveals purpose.

7. PURPOSE IS THE KEY TO FULFILMENT

Solomon tried several things, and had 1000 women in his harem, but still said all was vanity. He tried drinks too. He got all that made for pleasure but could not find satisfaction. Human satisfaction is locked up in purpose. If you are on a journey of purpose, there will be supply

7 PRINCIPLES OF PURPOSE Part 2

7 PRINCIPLES OF PURPOSE Part 2

      2.  EVERYTHING IN LIFE HAS A PURPOSE

You may be ignorant of God’s purpose, but it does not negate the purpose. Every creature of God has a purpose. Even plants and animals exist for a purpose. Plants and animals balance themselves in the ecosystem. They need one another. The ozone layer has a purpose.

Your life did not just happen. Don’t feel worthless. You are a person

(In 7 Things You Need to Know About Purpose)

Everybody has his own purpose. Never try to be someone else. You will never succeed being a clone. If you try it, all you will be is a caricature of someone else.

Find out your purpose. That you are born shows you are needed. You came into the world loaded with potentials. You have a unique DNA and nobody has your exact fingerprints.

You are perfect for your purpose. In light of purpose,

Jeremiah was designed before birth to suit his purpose and so are you.

The purpose of a product will determine its design. There are different designs of clothes because they are for different purposes. For example,

THE POWER OF PURPOSE (Part 4)

THE POWER OF PURPOSE (Part 4)

     4. MATERIALISM

Whatever drives you will color your judgment. Possessions and acquisitions will wear off. Material things will eventually bore you. Cars, houses, and other good things will lose their novelty with time.

Don’t allow materialism to drive you. Let purpose drive
